Terms of Service
Effective January 1, 2027 · Version 2026-11-05b
These terms are an agreement between you and Codebrick LLC ("we", "us"). They cover your use of CODEBRICK: the web app at codebrick.ai, the BRICKBOT AI assistant inside it, BRICKBOT for Revit (its add-in for Autodesk Revit), and any related API. By creating an account or using the service you agree to these terms and to our Privacy Policy. If you use the service for a company, you confirm you can bind that company to these terms.
During the beta, the beta terms also apply. They add to these terms, and where the two differ, the beta terms apply.
Section 15 requires most disputes to be resolved by individual binding arbitration and waives class actions. You can opt out within 30 days, as section 15 explains.
1. The service
CODEBRICK helps architecture and construction professionals organize project information, research applicable building and zoning codes, keep project files, and ask questions of BRICKBOT, an AI assistant that reads your project profile, your active uploads and the code data we load. BRICKBOT for Revit connects a Revit session to your CODEBRICK project so BRICKBOT can set up and annotate a model on your instruction. We may add, change or retire features at any time.
2. Accounts and workspaces
You need an account to use the service. Keep your password private and tell us at helpme@codebrick.ai if you think someone else has used it. You are responsible for what happens under your account.
Accounts belong to a workspace. A workspace admin can add and remove members, set office standards, manage billing, choose workspace settings and see everything in the workspace's projects. If you join a workspace someone else administers, that admin controls the workspace and its data.
You must be at least 18 years old to use the service. When you sign up you confirm that you are a licensed design professional, or work under the supervision of one, and that you are responsible for all work product you make with the service.
3. Credits and payment
AI features such as BRICKBOT answers and Revit add-in actions consume prepaid credits. Commands that do not use AI are free. Credits are metered per use: each action deducts an amount that depends on the kind of action and the work involved, and the balance shown in the app is the record of what remains. We may change how much an action costs in credits, and we will show the current rates in the app.
Credits can come from a subscription plan, a top-up purchase or an invite code. Credits may expire: invite code credits expire after a stated period, starter credits expire only where a date is stated, plan credits expire when the subscription ends, and we will say in the app when a batch of credits expires. Credits have no cash value, cannot be transferred between workspaces and, except where the law requires otherwise, are not refundable once granted.
Payments are handled by Stripe. Subscriptions renew automatically until cancelled from the billing page. Prices exclude taxes unless stated; you are responsible for any taxes that apply. If a payment fails we may pause credit grants or suspend the workspace until it is settled.
4. Acceptable use
When you use the service you agree not to:
- break the law or infringe anyone's rights, including uploading files you have no right to share;
- upload malware, probe or overload our systems, or try to get around security, rate limits or credit metering;
- share your account or resell access without our written permission;
- scrape, crawl or harvest the service or its data by automated means, other than through features we provide for that purpose;
- reverse engineer, decompile, disassemble or try to derive the source code, prompts, rules or data of the service or of BRICKBOT for Revit, except where the law expressly allows it despite this limit;
- copy, reproduce or redistribute the service, its code data compilations, research results, standards or other data, or use them to build a competing product or to train a competing model;
- submit personal information about other people that you do not have the right to share.
We may suspend or close accounts that break these rules.
5. Your professional responsibility
BRICKBOT and the research features produce information generated by software. They are not an architect, engineer, code official or lawyer and they do not give professional advice. AI output, research results and suggested changes are provisional: they can be wrong, incomplete or out of date, and building and zoning codes change by jurisdiction and over time. Every result must be verified with the authority having jurisdiction and checked by a licensed professional before it is relied on, submitted for permit or used in construction.
The licensed professional in charge of a project remains solely responsible for all work product, including drawings, models, specifications, code analyses and any document issued from or with the help of the service. Using the service does not make us a designer, consultant or reviewer of your project, and nothing in the service is a certification that a design meets any code.
6. Your content
You keep ownership of what you upload and create in the service: project profiles, files, drawings, models, chat messages and library notes ("your content"). You give us a license to host, process, display and transmit your content so we can run the service for you and your workspace, and you confirm you have the rights needed to grant that license.
We use your content to improve the service only when a workspace admin turns on "Help improve CODEBRICK" in Settings. It is off by default. When it is on, we may use de-identified project content, chats and edits from that workspace for product improvement only. We never sell your data. We share de-identified data with partners only if your office admin turns that on. Files marked "Do not use for training" (on by default for every file), chats in which BRICKBOT used such a file, projects marked confidential in their project settings, and your code books (with the chats that quote them) are always excluded. Turning the setting off stops new use and marks the workspace's data for removal from anything not yet used; it does not undo improvements already made.
"Allow sharing de-identified data with partners" is a separate setting in Settings, off by default, that only a workspace admin can change. When it is on, we may share de-identified data from that workspace with partners; the exclusions above still apply. Turning it off stops future sharing, but data already shared cannot be recalled. Today no data is shared with any partner.
Separately, a chat you share to a project Library can add its code answers to our shared library of code answers, with the project’s name, number, address and owner removed, kept as unverified until a platform admin checks them. Private chats, and chats that used a "Do not use for training" file, never do.
AI output is generated for you and you may use it subject to these terms. Similar output may be produced for other users; we do not claim that any output is unique to you.
7. Data retention and deletion
We keep your content while your workspace is active. Archived files stay stored and recoverable until deleted. You can delete files and projects in the app, and you can ask us to export or delete your account or workspace data by emailing legal@codebrick.ai. We will act on a verified request within a reasonable time, except for records we must keep for billing, legal or security reasons and for copies in routine backups, which age out on their own schedule.
8. Third-party services
The service runs on providers that process your data on our behalf. The current list is in the Privacy Policy; it includes Supabase (database, authentication and file storage), Vercel (web hosting), Anthropic (the AI model that answers BRICKBOT requests), Stripe (payments; we never see your full card number), Cloudflare (Turnstile checks that sign-ups come from a person) and Google Workspace (email).
Autodesk Revit is not part of the service. Your use of Revit is governed by your Autodesk license, and BRICKBOT only acts inside Revit when you connect it and ask it to.
9. Our intellectual property
The service, its software, design, prompts, rules, code data compilations and the CODEBRICK and BRICKBOT names are ours or our licensors'. These terms do not give you any right to them beyond using the service. If you send us feedback, we may use it without obligation to you.
10. No warranty
The service is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranty of any kind. To the fullest extent the law allows, we disclaim all warranties, express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy, title and non-infringement. We do not promise that the service will be uninterrupted, secure or error-free, that research results or AI output will be correct or complete, or that anything made with the service will be approved by any authority.
11. Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent the law allows, Codebrick LLC and its members, managers, employees and suppliers are not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, or for lost profits, revenue, data or business, arising from the service or these terms, even if we were told such damages were possible. Our total liability for all claims relating to the service is limited to the fees you paid us for the service in the twelve months before the event giving rise to the claim, or one hundred US dollars if you paid nothing. Some jurisdictions do not allow these limits, so some may not apply to you.
12. Indemnity
You will defend, indemnify and hold harmless Codebrick LLC and its members, managers, employees and suppliers from any claim, loss, liability, damage or expense (including reasonable attorneys' fees) arising from your content, your work product or projects, your use of the service, or your breach of these terms or of the law. We will tell you about a claim promptly and may take part in its defense with our own counsel.
13. Termination
You can stop using the service and ask us to close your account at any time. We may suspend or end your access if you break these terms, if required by law, or if we stop offering the service, in which case we will give reasonable notice where we can. Sections 4 through 16 survive termination.
14. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of California, without regard to its conflict of law rules. Any claim not subject to arbitration under section 15 will be brought in the state or federal courts in Los Angeles County, California, and you and we consent to their jurisdiction.
15. Arbitration and class-action waiver
You and we agree to resolve any dispute arising from these terms or the service by final, binding individual arbitration administered by the American Arbitration Association under its rules in effect at the time, held in Los Angeles County, California, or by video. Either of us may instead bring an individual claim in small claims court, or ask a court for an injunction to stop the misuse of intellectual property. Before starting arbitration, the claiming party must send a written description of the dispute and give the other 60 days to resolve it informally.
Claims may be brought only individually, not as a plaintiff or class member in any class, collective or representative action. The arbitrator may not combine more than one person's claims. If this waiver is found unenforceable for a claim, that claim goes to court and not to arbitration.
Opt-out: you can opt out of this section by emailing legal@codebrick.ai from the address on your account within 30 days of first accepting these terms, saying that you opt out of arbitration. Opting out does not affect the rest of these terms.
16. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms. If a change is material we will tell you in the app or by email before it takes effect, and we may ask you to accept the new version. Continuing to use the service after the effective date means you accept the updated terms.
